About BensDrive

Who I am, why I sell car insurance one driver at a time, and what I want you holding once the paperwork is done.

Driver settling into the seat of a parked car

Where I began

I would rather name every part than hand you a bundle

The first thing you see on a quote is a single number, and that number tells you almost nothing. Sitting underneath it are separate covers, and every one of them has a job it does and a point where it stops paying. I pull them apart and hand them to you one at a time, so you end up judging a policy instead of trusting it.

That is why I run BensDrive on my own. Nothing I send you turns up sealed shut. I lay each piece out, I say in plain words why it is there, and then you settle how far it should reach, because you are the one driving the car.

How I work

The habits I refuse to drop

None of these are clever. They only mean I slow down at the exact places where a policy usually gets skimmed.

I translate first

If I use a term with you, I have already told you what it means.

Nothing sneaks on

I can say out loud why every single line on your policy is sitting there.

The car sets the limits

I build the numbers around your vehicle and the miles you really drive.

I wait for your yes

I will not close a quote while any part of it still reads murky to you.

What I check

What I go through before you renew

A renewal notice almost never tells you what moved since last year. I walk back through the points below so renewing becomes a choice you make rather than one that happens to you.

Deductible

I ask what you could hand over tomorrow without it stinging, then set the figure right about there.

Liability

I lift this ceiling above what you own, because one bad day at fault reaches straight into your savings.

Vehicle value

I price your car at what it would sell for this month, never at what you paid on the day you got it.

Driving pattern

I ask where you go and when, since a school run and a long freeway commute are nowhere near the same risk.

Added cover

I keep roadside help, rental use and glass repair on there only while you would genuinely miss them.

How it works

Four steps to cover

01

Share the basics

Tell me the year, the model and how far you drive weekly.

02

Compare the parts

See what each cover pays for and what it leaves to you.

03

Send the papers

Licence and vehicle details go across in a single batch.

04

Drive covered

Documents land in your inbox and the start date is set.

Want me to walk your cover through line by line?

Give me the basics on the vehicle and how you use it. I will come back with options you can lay next to each other.
